harder and harder for grab to put a happy face on obama care. new problems keep popping up every day. maybe that's why the president seemed so subdued at an even if meant to rally the troops. eamon javers has all the details. >> reporter: good evening. it was billed as a speech beginning a three week push here by the white house between now and the end of the year to get people to sign up for obama care. they need to hit that beginning of the year deadline in 2014 to get a critical mass of people on the obama care website. the president today giving a speech inside the white house complex where he made the case again that the white house has hit its deadline for fixing the obama care website and now safe for people to sign up. take a listen. >> this law is working and will work into the future. people want the financial stability of health insurance and we'll keep on working to fix whatever problems come up, any start up, any launch of a project this big that has an impact on one sixth of our economy, whatever comes up we're just going fix it. >> reporter: meanwhile on capitol hill r

kudlow. this is "the kudlow report." we're here live, 7:00 p.m. eastern, 4:00 p.m. pacific. new obama care enrollment numbers out. there are still glitches everywhere apparently. steve handelsman joins us with the details. >> reporter: the website's better but it doesn't mean it's good. the nbc news estimate is that 100,000 americans in november signed up for coverage using healthcare.gov. that's a much better number than in october. but it's way worse than what a dozen or so state exchanges have signed up. today administration sources said by 5:30 p.m. eastern time, the site had 750,000 visits. it slowed down at times. some people got "please wait" messages, so-called queuing going on but no crashes or freezes. but there's the back-end problem. like amazon.com. to work, it has to kick out a command for a lightbulb to be sent to you. that's the back end. healthcare.gov has a back end that sends an 834 file to insurance companies. no one will reveal how many or what percentage. but too many of those 834 files are bad. hard to decipher? impossible to use, some of them. so people who think th

. scott gottlieb. in the "new york post," you write about making good on obama's "keep your insurance" promise by allowing americans to shop inside the federal employees' own health business plan. i'm a former federal bureaucrat. scott, is this feasible? what are the advantages of the federal employees' health care plan? >> it's a true marketplace. you have all different kinds of plans being sold and people can actually choose the plan that they want and tailor what they want to receive. the amazing thing is that the plans are actually cheaper than the obama care plans even without the federal subsidies. if you take the list price of a plan in that system and try to compare it to a comparable obama care in the same market, you'll see that there are cheaper options in the federal plan. my argument is this, people who lost their insurance, who were kicked off their insurance, rather than forcing them into obama care, let them shop in the federal program. let them have access to a real marketplace. >> chris, thousands of plans are in this federal employees' health care plan. it's whateve

president obama, the millennials are abandoning him and obama care in droves. a new poll shows plunging support from young people. because the obama care website is in such bad shape, the government now has offered to bail out insurance company profit and losses, and in a possible second bailout, provide the insurers with guest estimates of health care subsidies. this whole story has gone haywire. all right? all of this and more coming up on "the kudlow report" beginning right now. >>> good evening, everyone. i'm larry kudlow. this is "the kudlow report." we're live here at 7:00 p.m. eastern, 4:00 pacific. president obama tries everything we can to get the attention away from the obama care, anything. today he went back to his old stand by, the rich. for more on the president's remarks about, quote, income inequality, end quote, let's bring in nbc's own steve handelsman. steve. >> reporter: larry, thanks. this was president obama trying to refocus on helping the middle class that he said relative to the rich was in a long, slow slide from the 1970s and seemed to be doing better

the bond purchases by $15 billion. maybe enhance their credibility. but the bad news for obama care is rolling in. the website is posting an abysmal failure rate when it comes to reporting enrollment and payments to insurance companies. it's still at a very high 10% and was just recently at an alarming 25% and you know what? it ought to be zero. and speaking of insurance companies are they getting bailed out like the banks? it sure looks like it. 65% of americans by the way are totally opposed to it. all those stories, much more coming up on "the kudlow report" beginning right now. good news is good news today. big jobs, big stock rallies. we have all the details. good evening. >> larry, plenty expecting a non-farm payroll report, but no one predicted the markets would react this week. there was worries that an improving economy would lead the fed to taper early, burr the stock market rallies big and the bond market barely moves. cyclical sectors were strong and even the interest rate sensitive groups had a good day. we closed at the highs. but what about the taper fears? remember b
